Updated: Nov 24, 2025

31 Oct 2025 — Hibiscus Fund's portfolio company Pandai took centre stage at the Bloomberg Business Summit at ASEAN, where its Founder & CEO Khairul Anwar joined regional technology leaders to discuss how ASEAN innovators are redefining the future of artificial intelligence.

Speaking alongside Ilaria Chan, Chairperson of the Tech For Good Institute & Group Advisor for Tech & Social Impact at Grab, and Gary Leong, Senior Director of Analytics Intelligence Solutions at ViTrox Technologies, Khairul highlighted how AI development in Southeast Asia must reflect local needs, languages, and values to unlock its full potential.

The panel, titled “AI for ASEAN: Local Voices, Global Ambitions,” explored how homegrown talent, localised datasets, and supportive policy frameworks can anchor global AI models to regional realities. Moderated by Bloomberg’s Olivia Poh, the discussion underscored ASEAN’s unique opportunity to shape AI solutions that are inclusive, culturally relevant, and accessible.

As an education technology company focused on improving learning outcomes for students across Malaysia and the region, Pandai continues to champion the development of AI tools and digital learning platforms tailored for Southeast Asian classrooms. Khairul shared insights on how Pandai is integrating AI responsibly to support teachers, personalise learning, and expand access to quality education.

Hibiscus Fund is proud to support Pandai’s mission as it advances locally inspired innovation with global potential.
